Will Ireland Be Your New Home?
Hello Ireland, you beckon to me so. I can not be the only one who is fascinated by the Irish and everything about the island, including the culture rich in folklore and magical stories. Oh, the tons of books I read about this beautiful land and I’m also very fascinated by the Gaelic language and accent. Giving refuge to about seven million people living in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
With lush vegetation, a climate that is calm and temperatures not to the extremes, with cooler summers and moderate winters because it is influenced by the Atlantic Ocean. it sounds like a dream to live.
Ireland has opened up the healthcare pathway visa as a means to migrate to the country with a job waiting for you and with employers ready to help with the visa and relocation. You can earn as much as 15 euros per hour.
WakaWaka Doctor touched on it a little in this tweet;

Based on WakaWaka Doctor’s recommendation, here are things you should know;
Important Things To Know
-
Get your IELTS
The IELTS examination result is one of the necessary requirement needed in your migration process.
The International English Language Testing System is an international standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers. This test is about 250 USD which is about one hundred and eleven thousand naira. The Republic of Ireland accepts 5 as the passing mark on the test.
2. Tuberculosis Test
The tuberculosis (TB) screening and testing is important for public safety and health. Because tuberculosis is a deadly disease that can spread fast and spread easily from one person to another, it is essential that you get the test done so that they can be sure you are not carrying the disease. You will need a tuberculosis screening if you are going to the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months. You are to take a chest x-ray to test for tuberculosis in your lungs.
3. Necessary Vaccines
You need proof of your tuberculosis vaccines and other necessary vaccines proof. Some of those vaccines include the tetanus vaccine, chickenpox vaccine, rabies, hepatitis A, flu, polio, measles and shingles.
3. A Well Structured Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Your curriculum vitae should be up to standard and speak for you and your capabilities. You have to ensure your CV is well structured and is your best foot forward. Your curriculum Vitae should have all the important information about you, carry your strength and all of the reasons you think you are the perfect fit for the job
4. Health Care Courses.
Taking the right healthcare courses will help you be qualified for these roles in the country. There are migration companies that are ready to help with this.
5. Police Report
One of the application requirements is a police report. This helps to show your host country that you are not a criminal, you do not have any outstanding or current criminal records and that you won’t be a threat or a problem to the host country. There are three ways that you can apply to get a police report in Nigeria
You can
- Apply online on the Nigerian Police website
- You can apply in person at the police station
- Or you can go through a third party from anywhere. this method though is the most expensive of the three but also the fastest.
6. Proof Of Funds
When you are going through the healthcare visa pathway, you will not need to show proof of funds as your visa and everything else that it entails is going to be sponsored by your employer. This is one less thing to worry about because your employer covers the cost of this and bears the responsibility for the cost and expenses. This also means you can relocate with your family and/or dependents.
7. Experience
You do not need experience for most of these healthcare jobs. If you have been the primary caregiver of anyone who has been sick or bedridden in your family or around you, that counts and should reflect in your Curriculum Vitae (CV).
8. Drivers Licence
As this may or may not be a compulsory need, to err on the side of caution and to be prepared for anything, you are advised to get your driver’s license as some job descriptions may call for your driving skill. You might need to drive the people under your care around. To be safe than sorry, get your driver’s license and be prepared for anything.
There are about 10 to 15 care homes that are in each county so you can check on the counties and find the care homes that are looking for workers from all over the world and are willing and ready to help with the visa sponsorship.
Will you be taking this pathway? Does the Republic of Ireland seem like it could be you new home? Let us know.
