Nigerian Immigration Service: Where To Make The Payment
Applicants can make themselves on the NIS website, which also now carries other new updates like
- Introduction of premium passport service
- Centre availability
- Test photo upload
Other services that can be done on the website include
- Application for a new passport
- Application for passport renewal/reissue
- Application for correction of Data
- Completion of pending application
- Receipt printing and application status check
- Passport processing appointment
The Nigerian Immigration Service has urged applicants to be wary of third-party agents that might try to fleece them out of their money and also to speak up and report to the right NIS channels when they notice anything out of place.
Despite this announcement, Nigerians are questioning the validity of the news. They are sceptical about the new updates due to previous experiences of making payments online, going in for biometrics and capture, and yet still being asked to pay again or even completely denied services because of this.
Joshua Eze says he had to pay the sum of 90,000 naira again despite already making the payment online

Mr Bill also shared a likely scenario
At the passport office the next day…
Passport Officer: “Oh, okayyyy, you made your payment online?”
Applicant: “Yes, ma.”
Passport Officer: “Oya na, go to the online for your biometrics and capture.

Mr Okoli talks about how applicants who pay online are treated with disdain at the NIS office, Enugu
Go to Enugu office and see how they treat those who pay online with disdain. The corruption there is so blazing that doing the normal thing (like applying by yourself and paying online) seems to be the a crime. They will ensure you regret it. NIS, clean up your house!

There are so many more of this kind of complaint under the NIS post, and we hope that the right authorities look into it to see that situations like these are nipped in the bud, ensuring a seamless and easy online application process for applicants.
