Women’s Travelling Essentials

I’ll be the first to admit that packing before I travel annoys me, worrying about travelling essentials stresses me out both mentally and physically not something I look forward to I’m always like can’t these bags just pack themselves with everything I need inside and I know I’m not the only one who struggles with this. Today for my gyals dem, we will figure out a way to make packing a breeze. This one is for us lowly humans who struggle to pack before we go anywhere.

I could not do this alone, I had to ask on my socials, and from the responses, I was able to put a list of travelling essentials together for y’all.

Here are some responses I got;

From my Instagram stories

For Halima, she must have

“Pocket tissue, Body mist /spray, Perfume, Skincare products, Towel, Nightwear, Panty liners”

List Of Travelling Essentials

Of course, needs differ for each person but we can find a general travel essentials list to put together here.

  • Phone Charger

If you live in the 21st century and you own a phone it goes without saying that you will need your charger if you travel It’s not smart or safe so leave something like a charger to chance. You might say oh I’m sure I’ll get a charger when I get there but what if you don’t and then you get stranded. A charger should be on your list of travel essentials.

Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Mouthwash and Floss

These four oral care go together and just because you’re leaving the country or travelling anywhere is no excuse for your mouth to stink to prevail that you need this for babies.

Menstrual Care Products

We can’t really avoid this one it is what it is so while you travel you have to ensure that you go with a menstrual product that suits you it could be tampons, pads, menstrual cups, menstrual panties, and whatever else you might need and you use during this period.

Toiletries

Toiletries for every woman differ but some of the essentials that are usually in a woman’s toiletry bag would be bathing soap, shampoo and conditioner, body scrub, loofah and whatever else you might need to add to yours. You should customize to your needs and satisfaction.

 Makeup

For my ladies that slay with makeup, You don’t want to forget your makeup bag which of course should carry everything that you need in your makeup bag, powder, concealer, foundation, eyeshadow and every other good good.

Clothes

Yes, I know a little on the nose but it needs to be on the list. The type of outfit you pack for each journey depends on where you’re going and what you’ll be doing. You need to put this in mind when you’re picking out your clothes for your trip and make sure that your wardrobe ensemble fits and is right for the journey.

 Shoes

As with clothes, not all kinds of shoes match all kinds of outfits. You need to have this at the back of your mind while you’re selecting. You keep in mind to match your shoes with the outfit put aside for the trip.

 Shaving Kit

For women who shave, I think it’s smart to travel along with your shaving kits. You never can tell and you might need to shave.

First Aid Kit

This is definitely a travel essential, To be on the safer side. You might want to add in your first aid kit bandages, pain medicine, sanitisers, alcohol wipes, spirit, cotton wool, paracetamol, and painkillers.

Power Bank

Maybe it’s a Nigerian thing but I really don’t think I have gone anywhere or travelled anywhere without my power bank on me. Naija don show me shege. You never can tell what you’re going to meet at your destination, or how long you might have to be on the road. Anything could happen and you might need your power bank. Goes without saying that it should be a traveller’s essential and you should always have it with you, I know I do.

A Good Book

You can never go wrong with having a book with you on a journey. For me, it’s an absolute travel essential. There’s less distraction while you’re travelling which gives you the space and the chance to actually read.

Sunscreen

I can scream this from the rooftop but it is really important to always have your sunscreen with you and especially so if you’re travelling. You have to try to protect that skin from skin cancer and the sun is everywhere. UV rays say hi. To prevent UV rays from getting you, pack that sunscreen.

Universal Outlet Adaptor

It’s always a safe bet to travel with your own universal outlet adaptor. One is because no matter the country you go to you always have something that works and you’re able to charge and connect. This also saves you the stress of trying to find a spot where you can charge your gadgets.
