Brilliant Nigerian Economist Wins UK Commonwealth Scholarship, Graduates With Two (2) Master’s Degrees

A brilliant Nigerian Lady, Chidinma Onukogu has won the United Kingdom’s Commonwealth Scholarship to earn a Master’s degree in the UK after achieving exceptional academic feats as an Economist in Nigeria.

Chidinma Onukogu graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Port Harcourt, South-East, Nigeria. She immediately proceeded to the University of Lagos, South-West, Nigeria to earn a Master’s degree in Finance.

After her first Master’s degree, Chidinma Onukogu won the UK Commonwealth Scholarship to earn another Master’s degree at the University of Portsmouth in Hampshire, England. The UK Commonwealth Scholarship is a yearly award sponsored by the UK Government to allow exceptional international students to obtain knowledge in the UK.

Chidinma Onukogu who celebrated her achievement on LinkedIn says she is delighted to secure her second Master’s distinction having earned a Master’s of Science degree in International Development from the University of Portsmouth.

“My 2nd Distinction. MSc International Development. Delighted to officially graduate with a Distinction from my #MSC program at the University of Portsmouth UK,” she wrote on LinkedIn.

Chidinma Onukogu says she is proud of herself and the work she put in to achieve her success. She also thanked everyone that contributed to her achievement.

“I am eternally grateful to Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office for this chance to add value to myself and ultimately my community. Thanks to everyone that supported me on this journey,” she said.

Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship

  • You must have attained a minimum of 2:1 (or equivalent) at undergraduate level to be eligible to apply.

  • Applicant must be from a Commonwealth country
  • Meet the requirements for your chosen university and course
  • Applicants must be committed to creating change in their communities

    • Visit the relevant university website for more information on your chosen course using the links included below.
    • Complete and submit a QECS application for your chosen university/course by clicking the ‘Apply now’ button. Once you’ve clicked apply, you’ll be directed to a log in page. If you don’t already have a myACU account, click get ‘get started’ in the right hand corner of the page to start your application.
    • Submit an application to your chosen university for admission to your chosen course.
