Where Should I go This December?

‘Tis the season!! I am going to tell you straight up, I am one of those. You know those ones absolutely in love with Christmas and the season. As a Nigerian living in Nigeria, the harmattan is my absolute favourite season of the year. I can overlook the dust and hot sun and bask in the cool evening air. The harmattan and Christmas really always have me breaking out in little dances.

I am also one of those who enjoy a good vacation as much as the next person and as Christmas is fast approaching, it seems like the perfect time to seek out holiday spots to have a swell Christmas celebration.

Africa is such a beautiful, diverse continent with a population of about 1.4 billion people. It is the second-largest continent in the world and also the second-most populous in the world after Asia, of course. Made up of 54 countries, you can hardly run out of the most beautiful and scenic places to go to for Christmas.

So, here are 10 African countries you can book yourself a flight to this festive season, make sure to send us postcards, we’d love to see them.

Botswana

Botswana is a gorgeous country surrounded almost entirely by land. It is known as one of the most visited safari spots on the continent. It is home to the largest inland delta in the world known as the Okavango Delta. It also houses the Kalahari desert which is a huge tourist attraction. Considered to be one of the most extraordinary wilderness in the world and vast areas of said wilderness are well protected. It has got an array of wildlife and an immaculate landscape and scenery.

Botswana is made up of the breathtaking water worlds of the Okavango Delta and Chobe Rivers to its north and west and then the beautiful lunar-like pans at Nxai and Makgadikgadi and the astonishing Kalahari Desert to its East and South.

There is so much fun to be had in Cape town, with cable towns to carry you to its mountain tops where you get an unhindered view of the bustling harbour, the beautiful city and eye-catching boats.

Kenya

We used to sing this on the assembly ground, as a Nigerian, you know what’s up. Tanzania is the home to the very famous Mount Kilimanjaro. Did you know that Mount Kilimanjaro is actually a dormant volcano with 3 volcano cones named the Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira.
