As the holidays approach, people are sharing some of their favourite holiday locations. Let’s talk about Lebanon today. A tweet from a travel nomad talking about her experience in Lebanon brought us here;
The best country I have visited yet is Lebanon. I spent my last Christmas holiday there. Lebanon is a fusion of everything, the food, the people, the ambience. Everything is giving. If you are ever in Lebanon, please stay at Scappa resort for a night or two and thank me later 😁 pic.twitter.com/ayZzBfR5Ca

For the babes traveling this holiday to Lebanon, I will advise you to braid your hair, winter and wigs don’t really gel. My hair was all over the place.

Another culture shock I experienced in Lebanon was the colour of their orange juice or shape of their pizza. Watch my reaction below 🙈🙈 pic.twitter.com/9acxoTtApu

The country’s climate is generally subtropical distinguished by hot, dry summers and mild, humid winters.
What is Lebanon Known For?
Lebanon is very rich in history and culture. A melting pot of so many cultures. The Phoenician, Greek, and Arab. Because this country is very rich in different cultures, the tourism industry is booming.
There is so much to see, do, experience and taste. Regarded as the Pearl of The Middle East and Paris of the Middle east before the Lebanese Civil War that wrecked things, tourists visiting the country could enjoy its cuisine, history, archaeological sites, gorgeous architecture in the country and also Levantine Mediterranian Culture.
There are the Mamluk Mosques, Crusader Castles, Ottoman Hammams, rock-cut hermitages, Stone Age Settlements, Roman Temples, and the Phoenician city-states. You can visit all these places and more, like the Limestone Caves, stunning beaches burrowed in the Mediterranean sea, ancient Roman ruins, historic mosques and churches, and well-kept castles. You also get to enjoy a bubbling nightlife, mountains with ski resorts and of course delicious Lebanese cuisine.
As a testament to their existence and beauty, scattered around the country are these archaeological and historical sites. Its colourful and diverse culture is incredibly rich in history and makes it a prime go-to destination.
How Much to Get to Lebanon?
Depending on your budget and what kind of airline, class of airline and all of that jazz, you should budget about seven thousand naira (700,000)
A quote from the Travelletters newsletter and Munachimso sharing her experience talks about this
“this is me saying you are getting a feel of both regions with less than N700k.”
She also goes on to detail some of the other fees to be prepared for.
About flight, she says;
“We flew Egyptair from Abuja, it cost us N246,000 each for the return ticket.”
About visa;
“Lebanon is visa on arrival for Nigerian passport holders and costs about $20. There’s a requirement that you must have USD2,000 in cash, a return ticket and a hotel reservation.
If you decide to get a tour guide during your stay, she recommends;
“We hired a tour guide that took us around each city we visited and it cost $90 for a four-seater car per day (inclusive of petrol and time of the tour guide).”
There are so many activities you can enjoy in Lebanon, like boat cruises, hiking, paragliding, Baalbek tours, Jeita, Harissa, and Byblos Tour, City Sightseeing Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour, Wine Tasting Tour, Forests tours, lakes and waterfall tours, quad biking and cable car sightseeing. There’s so much to do, so much to take in, so much to experience.
Other Twitter users shared their experiences in response to her tweet,
