African Citizens Can Now Visit Kenya Visa Free

While Nigeria is ending its visa-on-arrival policy, Kenya is granting citizens of African countries visa-free entry to the country.

If you’re a citizen of an African country, you can now visit without a visa and stay for up to two months, without prior authorization, thanks to a new directive from the cabinet.

This news is even better for members of the East African Community—Tanzania, Burundi, Uganda, and Rwanda—as they can now stay in Kenya for up to 6 months, compared to the 2-month limit for citizens of other African countries, in line with bloc policy.

All African countries but Somalia and Libya are exempted from the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) requirement and these two countries are exempted due to security concerns. 

Kenya will be introducing an enhanced process that grants instant travel approval with at most a 72-hour processing time.
