 Skilled Recognised Graduate Visa (Subclass 476)

 The skilled recognised graduate visa 476 is for recent engineers who just graduated to work, live or study in Australia for up to 18 months. To be qualified for this visa, you need to have a degree or higher qualification from a specified institution within the past 2 years and you must be under 31 years of age.

This working and skilled visa allows you to work and study and allows you to stay in Australia for up to 18 months. The visa will cost you AUD 425.

This visa allows you to study work and travel in Australia. The visa is only valid once, it cannot be extended and you will need to apply for another visa to stay longer than 18 months in Australia.

Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485)

This temporary graduate visa is one that allows international students to work, study and live in Australia after they have finished their studies.

The Australian government plans to increase the duration for temporary graduate visas subclass 485 from the 1st of July 2023. This working and skilled visa is to help address the skill shortages in key industries and also help rebuild the international education sector. Graduates with a degree or master’s degree will be eligible for the visa with a two-year validity if their qualification is listed in the Department of Education.

To be eligible for this visa, you need to have a recent qualification in a CRICOS registered course, you have to have an eligible visa, you must have held a student visa for the last 6 months and you must also be under the age of 50.

Temporary Work (Short Stay Specialist) Visa (Subclass 400)

If you have specialised skills, experience and knowledge not easily found or available in Australia then this working and skilled visa will most likely be granted to you. This visa allows you to do short-term and highly specialised work in Australia. It will cost you AUD 325 to get this working and skilled visa and it can be granted for up to 6 months depending on the circumstances. For you to be able to stay longer than 3 months you will have to provide a strong case with your application and you can’t apply for this visa in Australia or stay longer by extending the visa.

Global Talent Visa (Subclass 858)

The Global Talent Visa allows you to stay permanently in Australia. Formerly called the Distinguished Talent Visa it became the Global Talent Visa on 27 February 2021. The Global Talent Visa is a permanent visa for people who have an internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievement in an eligible field. It will cost you about AUD 4,305 for the visa. This working and skilled visa allows you to stay permanently in Australia, allows you to sponsor your relatives to come to Australia, allows you to travel to and from Australia for 5 years, allows you to work and study in Australia and also allows you to enrol in Australia’s public health care scheme- Medicare.

Some of the sectors that are priorities for the global talent visa are agri-food and AgTech, Defence, Advanced Manufacturing And Space, Digitech, Infrastructure And Tourism, Education, Resources, Energy, Financial Services And Fintech, Health Industries, And Circular Economy.

You become a permanent resident of Australia on the day that you are granted the visa and you can also move with your family.
