5 University Scholarships For International Students You Should Know

-

It’s time to go to the University and this reminds me of a saying in Yoruba “owo oniru, owo oniyo” which loosely translates to “the money from the locust beans seller, the money from the salt seller” This is a saying usually used by parents who have to work multiple jobs to pay fees and see their children through university or just school in general. Education can be expensive and it helps to get all of the assistance that you can get, this is why I think that is why scholarships will never go out of style.

There are different types of scholarships out there that fit the need of different students. It all depends on what you’re looking for what field you are and what kind of scholarship you need that would help you achieve your educational goals and start you out on the right path to a successful career.

We will be getting into different types of scholarships that can be useful for you and help you on your journey.

Did you know that Berea College is the only college in the United States that provides 100% funding to all enrolled international students for the first year of enrolment? Well yes, no student pays tuition at Berea college. Students admitted receive the no-tuition promise which actually covers 100% of tuition costs. This type of financial aid covers the cost of tuition, room, board, and fees.

This college provides 100% funding to all newly admitted international students in the first year of enrolment. For subsequent years international students have to save $1,000 annually towards their expenses. Summer jobs are provided by the college for international students to enable them to meet this obligation.

International students that are accepted are to pay a $50 entrance fee and a $2,200 deposit to confirm their enrollment. International students can use this deposit for certain expenses in the course of their four years of enrollment. Supplementary financial aid is provided for students who are unable to pay all or a portion of the deposit.

Another good thing about Berea college is that paid on-campus job is made available to students through the college’s work program during the academic year and students may use the wages made from the job which is about $2,000 to cover personal expenses.
