Danish Positive List: Exciting News About the New Denmark Critical Skills Employment Permit 2023

The Danish Agency For International Recruitment And Integration (SIRI) has released a new Positive List for people with Skilled Work and Higher Education on the Denmark Critical Skills Employment Permit. This is supposed to kick into effect 1st of January 2023 and will be on until the 30th of June 2023. The Positive List is based on the labour market balance it received from the Danish Agency for Labour Market and Recruitment (STAR).

This list was developed for people with higher education and for skilled workers. The Positive List for people with a higher education contains 40 job titles in total and the Positive List for skilled work contains 36 job titles in total.

Production Engineers, Energy Engineers, Architects, and HR Consultants were taken out of the Higher Education list and Buyer and Construction Managers from the Skilled Worker List were taken out from the last positive list.

Requirements To Be Able To Apply For Jobs On The Positive List 

• You must have gotten a job with a company where they start in Denmark to be able to apply for your residence permit 
•  You must submit an application for a residence permit on the basis of work
• Your level of education must be a match for the job education requirements on the list 
• You must pay the processing fee of DKK 4,405 
• You must submit documents. Documents like receipt of your payments, copy of all pages of your passport including all empty pages and the front and back cover of your passports, your job offer or employment contracts, educational documents, authorisation document,

Benefits Of Having A Danish Work Permit 

• Your family is allowed to join you and can live work and study.
• The permit allows you to stay in the Schengen zone for up to 90 days within 180 days period although you cannot work in other Schengen countries. Click here to read more about the Schengen Zone.

Other Important Information To Note About The Positive List

• The duration of the work permit is 4 years 
•  If you lose your job before your permit expires through no fault of yours, you will need to apply for an extra 6 months’ residence permit to be able to search for another job and you must apply for a job seeking permits no later than 2 days after you lose your job
• You can’t work while you have a job-seeking permit instead you will need to apply for a new residence and work permit. You can start working after you have submitted your new application even though your permit hasn’t been granted yet
