Dele Momodu Encourages Nigerians in the Diaspora to Move Back-“There’s nowhere there’s perfect security”

Mr Dele Momodu Spoke With Teju

Love him, or hate him, one thing you can be sure of is that Mr Dele Momodu will share his thoughts about the state of things and this time he is warning Nigerians about the not-so-palatable realities of japa and relocating to another country.

In a recent interview with Teju Babyface, the media entrepreneur and owner of Ovation magazine opined that there are vast opportunities and financial stability to be found in Nigeria and that they need to move back home.

He went on to say that you can live a very comfortable life, and start different businesses, ranches or farms in Nigeria with 30-40million naira as having that amount of money should be enough to not make anyone feel like they are poor. He said “If you had 30 to 40 million in Nigeria and you think you’re a poor man, I beg you, you’re a madman. You have 30 to 40 million and you can’t set up a proper business in Nigeria. I beg you to think again. There’s nowhere where there’s perfect security,” he said.

Dele Momodu noted that while living abroad might seem rosy and easy in the beginning, it does start to lose its appeal when you have to start paying bills and dealing with the drawbacks of financial independence.

He also further stated, “If you had 30 to 40 million in Nigeria and you think you’re a poor man, I beg you, you’re a mad man. You have 30 to 40 million and you can’t set up a proper business in Nigeria. I beg you think again. There’s nowhere there’s perfect security,”

Dele Momodu also touched on the security of the nation and how no one in the world is 100% safe,

“On a single day, 3000 people got killed in New York. The people of New York have not abandoned their country because of that. In fact, you can set up your own security in Nigeria.”

Do you agree with Mr Dele Momodu? Should Nigerians abroad move back home to start a life?
