All About the Turkey Scholarship

The Turkiye scholarships have something for each education level with the design of different and specific scholarships for each program. The Turkey scholarship provides many scholarship opportunities from the PhD scholarships to master’s scholarships and bachelor’s degrees and also to research and merit-based scholarships, joint scholarship programs created with international reputable institutions and even art scholarships.

The Turkey Scholarship Eligibility

• Applicants from all countries are eligible 
• Open to graduates or those that will graduate at the end of the current academic year
• Open to researchers and academics.

Scholarship Application Criteria

This scholarship is based on merit and therefore is very competitive. There is a required minimum academic achievement necessary to be considered for this scholarship;

• For candidates in health sciences, medicine, dentistry and pharmacy, must have a 90% score
• For graduate candidates 75%
• And for undergraduate candidates 70%

 The Turkey Scholarship Age Criteria 

•  All undergraduate candidates must be under the age of 21
• The master’s degree applicant must be under the age of 30
• For the doctorate degrees applicants must be under the age of 35
• And for the research scholarship candidate must be under the age of 45

The Turkey Scholarship Benefits; 

 The Turkiye scholarships provide you

• With university and department placement 
•  Applicants get monthly stipends and depending on the program go from 1,000 TL to 1,800 TL
• Selected candidates get tuition fees paid 
•  The selected applicant also gets accommodation 
•  They will also get health insurance
• The Turkish language course training for 1 year and a one-off flight tickets allowance at the beginning and end of the program.

Undergraduate Scholarship Program

Engineering, health sciences, basic sciences, and social sciences are some of the fields with numerous departments that the scholarship program provides education for. The application system is called the Turkish scholarships application system (TBBS). For the scholarship almost all undergraduate programs except for associate degrees and vocational schools are available.

The Graduate Scholarship Program 

For the doctorate and masters program, there are a lot of various programs available in the fields of natural sciences, engineering, humanities and social sciences. All of these are offered at different prestigious universities in Turkiye.

Except for the health department, almost all other fields of study are offered.

Art Scholarship Program

 This program gives opportunities to international students at the doctorate, master, and undergraduate levels and all of this in the fields of performing and fine art at Ankara Music and Fine Art University and also musical sciences.

The Turkiye scholarship is meant to  

 – encourage students who are qualified and have international academic and language proficiency documents to study in Turkiye

 – For the specific needs of qualified students, it has designed custom social-cultural programs

For the merit scholarship program, those who have these qualifications will be included

• Applicants who carry out research projects within specific research projects or with the approval of the presidency 
• Applicant publishes scientific articles in journals seen by the science citation index (SCI)
• Applicants who have acquired a patent licence
• Applicants who scored high scores in national exams
• Applicants who scored high points in proficiency tests like IELTS, SAT, TOEFL and GRE
• The scholarship student who takes part in the merit scholarship program will get a monthly stipend two times the regular amount.

Document Required For Scholarship

Candidates are required to upload the following documents

• Candidates are to upload their national exam results
• They are too also upload their school transcript
• And also international exam results if it is demanded by the chosen university.
• For the doctorate application, candidates are required to upload a proposal for a research topic and also a written example of carried out research
• They are also required to upload a valid identity card or passport
• A photograph of the candidates taken within the last year
• Temporary graduation certificate or diploma of the applicant

Other things to note about the scholarship

-A lot of the programs in Turkish universities are taught in the Turkish language. There are some universities and departments that teach some programs in English and other languages.

-Applicants who want to study in English are required to provide a language proficiency certificate that is internationally accepted which could be IELTS or TOEFL.

– all scholarship awardees are going to attend the 1-year Turkish language course and should get at least the C1 level certificate by the end of that academic year.
